Deacon Equipment Company - Forestry, Recycling, and Sawmill Equipment

Deacon Equipment Company was founded by Walt Deacon in February, 1994 as the successor to Morbark Pennsylvania, Inc.. Deacon is the exclusive dealer for Morbark's industrial equipment line in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and exclusive dealer for Morbark's commercial (hand fed chipper) line for Western, Central and Southeastern PA, along with Central and South New Jersey.

Walt Deacon, the founder and President of the company began work for Morbark Industries in Winn, MI as its Personnel Manager and Credit Manager in October 1981. He moved into sales in January 1984, then started a subsidiary corporation (Morbark Pennsylvania) in October 1986. When Morbark PA ceased operations, Deacon Equipment immediately took over with no loss in customer service.

In August 1999, Deacon Equipment moved into its new 13,000 square foot facility located on 35 acres at exit 232 in Bloomsburg (Buckhorn) Pennsylvania. This facility was designed and built to service the large equipment Morbark manufactures and serves as home to the parts, service, sales and administrative staff.

March 2005 saw the further expansion of Deacon Equipment with its first branch location in Bristol, PA. This modern 6000 square foot facility is conveniently located off Route 13, with easy access to I-95 and the PA Turnpike. In addition to handling the full line of Morbark chippers and stump grinders, the Bristol store features a complete line of Arborist supplies. In December 2005 a third location was added on US Highway 19 in Portersville, PA, 40 miles North of Pittsburgh.

Deacon Equipment has recently been given the Top Selling Dealer Award by Morbark for both Industrial and Commercial Equipment. Because of its commitment to the Morbark equipment line and its dedication to customer support, Deacon Equipment has the largest Morbark parts inventory in the world outside of Morbark's factory. Nearly $1 million worth of Morbark parts, and an experienced and dedicated parts and service staff, combine to form the type of product support for which Deacon has become known.
